Noah's Ark and God's Opportunities

Children's church. Story of Noah's Ark. Noah built a huuuuuge boat. Filled it up with two of every animal. God flooded the whole earth. Dove with olive branch. Flood was gone. Hooray!

Fast forward in life. Actually read the story in the Bible (Genesis 6-9). A little more deeper understanding of why God did what he did. We find that God is an 'angry God' who wants to destroy all the evil people in the world. (Gen 6:13) And then He promises He will never do it again (Gen 9:13). Yayyy!

But recently, I found another fun part within the story...

"...you know, a lot of people miss the point of that story. They think it's about God's wrath and anger. They love it when God gets angry... I think it's a love story. About believing in each other. You know, the animal showed up in pairs. They stood by each other. Side by side. Just like Noah and his family. Everybody entered the ark side by side..."

I like that side of the Noah's ark story. :-) Just another way God showed His Love. It's all about sticking through the storm, side by side.

That whole Love thing... Never ceases to amaze me...

"If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience, or does He give them the opportunity to be patient? If they prayed for courage, does God give them courage, or does He give them opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for their family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does He give them opportunities to Love each other?"

Thought for the day :-)
